Rix on his first day of school waiting for the bus at the office. Bryce wanted to be in the picture too.Rix started preschool last week. He did preschool last year, but it was at a private preschool ran by a church here. This year he is at Park Lodge Elementary, which he loves for two reasons: 1)Nana works there and he can see her whenever he wants. And 2)He gets to ride the bus everyday, which I think he loves more than going to school. The bus picks him up at my office and then drops him off at our house in the afternoon. It is awesome! Although the first day of school the bus that takes him home (he gets shuttled to another elementary school that takes him home on their bus) didn't have record of who he was and luckily my mom put our address in his shirt pocket or they wouldn't have known where to take him. He was like 40 minutes late coming home and I was freaking out! He has already come home with some fun papers (he is amazing at tracing letters - or at least I was impressed) and they are learning shapes, which is a bummer to me because he already knows his shapes so I hope he doesn't get bored. Bryce has a hard time with Rix gone. He is always begging to go on the bus with Rix and he says (everyday) "Tomorrow I will go on the bus. I will bring my backpack too." He constantly asks where Rix is even though he knows the answer. (He asks all day long where Daddy is too, and he will say Daddy is at work or Scouts, which is a safe assumption at any given moment.) I hope Rix loves school this year and learns a lot. I hope his social skills improve. Last year at preschool all the kids had one close friend that they really bonded with, while Rix flitted from group to group, never bonding with one student and mostly playing by himself. I hope this year he learns to make friends. But mostly I'm excited that he is learning. Yesterday he randomly started counting to 5 in Spanish, which was crazy because he doesn't have any Spanish friends and doesn't watch Dora or Diego. He says he is learning it at school. So cool, right? I'll keep you posted on any craziness that happens with Rix at preschool.

Rix on the bus. We are lucky that the bus driver here is in our ward and a good family friend. It made it easier for Rix to get on and I wasn't so worried.

I'm glad that he loves preschool. I love his hair too, when did it start getting curly?! I wish a bus picked up Hayden, it would save me so much time (and gas!).
I'm wishing for the bus thing too, although I get panicky when someone else drives my kids somewhere... call it my paranoia. His preschool sounds like lots of fun. How sad that Bryce misses him so much!
How crazy to send him away on a bus! I'm glad you know the driver. That has to make it so much easier. Today at dinner, Austin was talking about Rix and said, "I know! We can name our new baby Rix!!" So, there we go. If it's a girl--Celeste. A boy--Rix. I'm so glad to have that resolved!!
Oh fun! Rix is SO adorable. I'm glad he loves preschool, and especially riding the bus! haha.
I love his hair. You have to hide the clippers so Bryan can not get a hold of those nice curls. I think it is so cute that he gets to ride the bus. Preschool sounds like a blast. Tell him hi for us.
