Braun and No Brains

Bryan and I went to the Puyallup Fair last night with my parents and Dave and Lindsay. It was my kind of Fair - we ate yummy scones and BBQ sandwiches, walked around the booths, and gawked at the crazy people there. The Puyallup Fair really brings the crazies out of the woodwork! Lindsay was telling me about this girl she was last weekend at the fair who was wearing SPANDEX that were supposed to look like jeans - with pockets drawn on and everything. Where do these people come from? I even introduced everyone to Elephant Ears (which are too greasy - I shouldn't have got it!). Bryan and Dave did the StrongMan game where they hit the target with a huge hammer. They were amazing! Even the huge man before them couldn't break 100, and Bryan and Dave broke 130! All braun! Then my dad opened his big mouth and said he would finance anyone who was crazy enough to ride the Big Sling. He thought we were all too chicken, but Dave and my Mom spoke up right away. My dad was floored. None of us could believe that my mom wanted to go! The Big Sling is a two-chair contraption that literally slings you over 200 feet in the air and you bounce up and down for a minute. After watching it, I really wanted to go, so Dave (what a gentleman!) gave up his spot for me. Thanks Dave! Before going on, I was a little sick to my stomach and gave Bryan strict instructions to tell my kids how wonderful of a mother I was to them in case I didn't make it. No brains for me. My dad thought we were NUTS. But the ride was AWESOME. I couldn't stop screaming and my mom couldn't stop laughing. I would do it again in a heartbeat - as long as somebody else pays for it :) Sorry - my camera was still set on "beach setting" :)

Dave going for the kill.

With their prizes. Dave says his is for Rusty, but I really think he wants to keep it for himself.

Waiting for our ride to start. Do I look nervous?

Sorry the video is so dark but it was night time, and you can see the lights of the ride so you know how high we went. We are so brave! I couldn't stop shaking for like 5 minutes after the ride was over.

Mom went with you?! You guys really need to make it out to Cedar Point here, I'd love to see Mom on some of those kind of rides! I've always wanted to go on one of those, you're so lucky! I hope you ate at least one scone for me, if not more. I miss the fair!

Tell Dad he can finance crazy rides for me too! I love how "My Heart Will Go On" is in the background... weird. That looked like so much fun. I am so surprised Mom went! I would have never guessed that in a million years. I am totally going next year to the Puyallup Fair, by the way. It's been 7 years since I've been now! Glad you had fun and ate greasy food for me!

Ha! You are so funny! I loved hearing "I don't think Celeste has closed her mouth the whole time!" I wish I could have seen what the ride was...I have a hard time picturing it. Can't wait to see you soon!!! I'll buy some Little Debbie cupcakes in your honor. Then we eat the whole box together (seriously).

Who did you think went on all the rides at Disney World with you. (ME) When they start at the bottom it is so worth it. I cannot bunjy jump though. That means free falling.
The best part was your Dad's face when I said I would go. Priceless.
