Bryce Takes Over Preschool!

Bryce is officially in school. He goes to Park Lodge every day except Wednesday for half day preschool. And on Wednesdays I have to hear him whine about not being able to go to school. The kid loves it! All morning long I hear "When are you taking me to school" and "How much longer until I go to school?" He started last Monday and already I feel like he's been going to school forever. He never had a shy moment or a time when he didn't want me to leave (I'm still upset about that - shouldn't all kids be sad to leave their mom??). And we are still getting used to the schedule. After I drop him off, Cole and I have a little over two hours before we go pick them up. That means little time for lunch and naps, and that means Cole gets very little naps, which means I have a cranky child most days. But we enjoy getting to the school a little early and letting Cole play on the playground before the kids are released.

Bryce has said he loves everything about school, but specifically he has said that he most loved getting a new toothbrush when the dentist came to school last week. That's right folks. He loved the toothbrush. Out of all the new things he learned. But he's coming home singing new songs and is sloooooowly getting the whole writing thing down. The first day he came home with a tracing activity he had done, where he had to trace the letters of his name. Honestly, he was terrible at it. Writing is not something he is really excelling at, but I'm sure by the end of the year he will be much better. And today he ran into a girl that goes to his preschool at Safeway. It's already begun!

His teacher's name is Ms. Brown, and seriously, she is a saint. She is so patient! She was Rix's preschool teacher too, and he loved her. And, to make things more interesting, Jack comes into preschool next week. Do you think Ms. Brown can handle two redheads in her class? We shall see!! And I love to pick him up after school because he runs to me, and I know that he missed me. It's fun to hear how his day was and see all the new things he's learning!

Bryce gets to spend a lot of time with Nana! Because I come straight from the office, instead of me packing a lunch and having him eat it at the office, I drop him off a little early and Nana gets him a lunch at school. Then Bryce gets to eat lunch with Rix (and sometimes Nana) and go to class. Aren't we spoiled?
Bryce found his cubby right away. Even though he can't write his name, he sure knows how to spell it and how to recognize it!
We got to school a little early and so he had time to play a little before the other kids came. Daddy even got off at the right time to drop Bryce off with me.
Cole was very upset that he wasn't staying for preschool! I hear everyday "I am four years old and I go to school" so I have to remind him that he's only two, and does not in fact go to school yet. He so much wants to be big!

Yeah...it was really funny this Sunday when I asked Cole how old he was. He flipped back and forth between saying "four" and "six". It is always so cute to ask a child how old he is and then stand back and listen for the crazy answer. Maybe he just feels mature so therefore, he feels six.

It will be pretty crazy to have both red heads in the same preschool! Bryce looks so grown up in his pictures too. I'm glad he's liking it so far.

What a fun preschool, especially with Nana and Jack there! I love seeing the kids in preschool, they learn so much and feel so grown up. Have fun with some Cole-only time!

Look at that cute Bryce! He's all grown up in his haircut. I can almost hear his cute voice. Love that kid! And enjoy some extra free time! Woo hoo!
