Bryan's parents came to visit a few weeks ago, and we were so excited to have them here! They brought with them the Triumph for Bryan and Dave to work on (which is now taking prime real estate is my garage and will probably get its own post soon) and lots of beef!! Bryan's dad raises cows in Utah, and so this beef is gooooood. For Christmas they gave us enough beef to fill our downstairs freezer. Hooray!! And Bryan is super-excited because my cheap-self only buys ground beef, chicken, and the occasional pork roast. But now he has options of roasts, stew meat, and STEAK!
Rix, Bryce, and Cole loved having Grandma and Pompom here. They wrestled, got read to, and played games to their hearts content (unless bedtime was around). And on Saturday, while the boys finished our backyard fence - hooray! - Grandma took the boys on their dream date. We went to see "The Princess and the Frog", had lunch and games at Chuck E Cheese, and then went bowling with everyone. It was a long day, but the boys had a blast and didn't want it to end.
Here is what their responses were when I asked them:
What was your favorite part of having Grandma and Pompom here?
Rix - Playing the Wii with them (which is really funny, because they only lasted about 2 seconds before they threw the fit of all fits and got sent to their room). He also said: When they read me a book, and wrestling with Pompom, and taking away Pompom's hat.
Bryce - Going to Chuck E Cheese!
Cole - Bowling and eating hot dogs (they had dinner at the bowling alley).

A long-awaited visit
The boys (and us!) can't wait until they get to see their grandparents again. For a while, whenever we would go somewhere or ask what they wanted to do, it usually involved them asking if Grandma and Pompom were going to be there or if they could come with us. It was awesome for my kids to spend time with their grandparents too! It's easy to feel forgotten out here in Washington because everyone else (except our beloved Crazy Uncle Dave and Lindsay!!) is in Utah. But the one-on-one time with the grandparents was great, and the boys can't wait until March to see Grandma!
Dave, Grandma, and Bryan. Do you see their faces? Pompom just lost to Grandma! I believe they are gloating!!
Eating dinner! Bowling alley food is good!
Lindsay and I didn't bowl - she was on Cole duty!
Bryce was happy just slamming the balls together. We only had smashed fingers once!
Cole enjoyed the "air thing".
High-fives all around!
Cole with Grandma at Rix's basketball game.
It's not a Pearson trip without muscle pictures!!

I'm glad they had fun, what a fun date they planned with the boys! If I had energy I'd take mine to something like that, think I can borrow Karen for a day?
Wow even though I haven't really lived in Utah for longer than 3 months for going on 5 years now I'm still considered to be from there... real cool Celeste ha ha. Looks like loads of fun, lets web cam again soon!
glad you guys had so much fun. We need to visit soon!
What bowling alley did you all go to? My kids want to go too. I think Olivia thinks she'll be just as good there as she is on the Wii. I'm glad you had lots of fun with them!
Stina- you DO need to come visit SOON!!!
