Zoolights 2008

I have never been to Zoolights (okay, maybe I have, but if I have been I don't remember going) but it is so cool! Bryan and I have an annual zoo pass, and the kids love to go. We love the zoo pass because it's a free activity to take the kids to, they get to be outside, see the animals, and we all enjoy being there. And with our zoo pass we get free admission also to Zoolights. We haven't been in years past due to terrible weather and crazy family events (I blame last year's craziness on Kory). This year however we decided to buck up and go, no matter what the temperature was or what was falling from the sky. With our zoo pass we get three guests in free, so my parents came, and the boys were so excited to not only go to the zoo and see the lights, but go with Nana and Papa! We got all bundled up, brought snacks and umbrellas, and piled in the car on New Year's Eve. The temperature was really cold, but it wasn't really snowing or raining, which was a relief! The lights were amazing and the boys loved pointing out the different animals made by the lights. I also broke down and got them light up swords that sound like the Ninja sword at Grandma Pearson's house. And we were surprised to find out the aquarium was open, letting the boys see the sharks (they don't care about the other fish - sorry other fish!) and warm up. Overall it was a fun night, and we can't wait until next year! Rix and Bryce with their umbrellas. It was really funny because when they walked they looked like walking umbrellas with feet because they are so little and the umbrellas were so huge.

At Zoolights! We love Cole, but didn't get him out of the stroller for the picture. Way too much work!
Bryan with Rix and Bryce. And it's not a sun, it's a spider :)

Nana with Cole. She was the official stroller pusher. And the official putter-onner of the beanie that Cole kept taking off.
Papa and Rix by the rainbow.

Cole was content being in the stroller and watching everything. He didn't even complain about being cold!
The family with all the lights. See the blue and purple tree behind Bryan? It was our favorite. And I love that Rix and Bryce are like He-Man in the picture "By the powers of Grayskull!..."
Cole thought the fish were amazing. He smiled and laughed and talked to them forever. When he put his hand on the glass, this one fish would come to him. Aah! Best friends!
And of course we had to go on the carousel. The boys love it, and Rix loves the tiger, even though it is the only animal on the whole ride that doesn't go up and down. Bummer! Bryan had to go on with them because it makes me sick :) Man am I getting old or what??

So, I saw the hat on that tiny body in the stroller and thought Bryce. And then I saw the up-close picture and am devastated. How could you let him grow up? Maybe next New Year's we could use 3 of your free passes and get 1/2 of our family in with you. I wonder if the SL Zoo's lights are worth it. Or maybe, you'll have moved out here by then and we can just go here!!! Yeah!!! (Sh. I know--wishful thinking, but a girl can dream can't she???)

It looks really cold there! I don't remember going to Zoolights either, but I think my kids would love to go sometime or do something like that wherever we move to. Seriously, Cole looks so big in that stroller! And I just saw him a couple months ago!

It must be Toledo, but I wasn't too impressed with the zoolights here...oh yeah, because it was like 10 degrees outside! I'd enjoy it much more if I wasn't dying from hypothermia. Yours looks great, and carousel, how fun, I don't even think ours has one...or maybe it does. I need to go back to the zoo apparently. And how brave that you got your boys swords, mine are a little too wild for that.

When did zoolights start? It seems so weird to me. But it looks like so much fun for families. Love the family pic! Can't wait to see you guys!

I loved the zoo lights. We went to the Fantasy lights this year. They were fun too but we were stuck in the car the whole time because you drive it. And that picture of Cole and the fish is adorable. He is so stinkin' cute.
