My days are not full of adventures and huge occurences, but they are full of small random moments that make my days humorous (a must for me - it helps me cope with three kids) and interesting. Here are some small random moments for you to enjoy:
*We were driving in Puyallup, and we heard a car backfire really loud (it must have been next to us!). And Rix perked up and said "Mom! The army is close by!!" We live really close to Fort Lewis and hear them practicing a lot, so I guess you are a product of your environment!
*Most people look forward to their kids learning to talk. Cole has a growing vocabulary. He can say daddy, cracker, blankie, nana, hello when he is on the phone, please, cheese (which is what he says when he sees the camera), and more. What - does he say mama?? NO!! Whenever we try to get him to say mama, he says papa, much to my father's delight.

Cole has an undying affection for papa, unless papa wipes Cole's nose, then he gets mad at him. In fact, if my dad is holding Cole and I put my arms out to take him, he doesn't come to me, he just gives me a high five.
Cole has also learned to say uh-oh, which is so fun, except he only uses it in context, and usually during meal times in his high chair. So we play the fun game of Cole-drop-Mommy-picks it up a lot. In this video he wouldn't drop it (of course, why do anything on cue??) so I helped out a bit, but you can hear him say uh-oh.
* A few months ago I was in the kitchen serving lunch to the kids and Rix, out of nowhere, said "Mom, there was a man standing next to you, but now he's gone." I just stood there, confused and slightly creeped out. I asked him where the man went, and he said "In the wall." I get shivers just thinking about it. But we do live in an old house, so anything is possible right? So two nights ago I woke up to a strange noise around 4 am, like someone was flipping an object over and over in our living room. Usually when I hear noises I assume it's the house settling or the heater coming on or whatever, but it was so constant that I got up and went into the kitchen, but I was so terrified it was literally hard to breathe, so I woke up Bryan, and we investigated. We didn't find anything, and after checking on the boys and the locks of our front door, we went back to bed. I mean, Bryan went back to bed, and I lay terrified next to him. Creepy.
* So *hooray* for public schools. Although Rix loves his preschool at Park Lodge Elementary, he is learning some undesirable behaviors. The worst? On Friday I was cleaning his room and found a toy he had been missing, and he said "Oh My ***". Hello! My 4-year-old is breaking one of the ten commandments! I asked him where he heard that, because no one we hang out with says anything like that. He said Daddy says it, but I know Bryan doesn't say that. We explained to him why we don't say it, and he has only said it a couple more times, but on Friday night we had a babysitter from our ward come over, and I prayed he didn't say that in front of her - what would she think??
* We have been blanketed in fog for the past couple days, and I have discovered that fog makes me sleepy. It's something about the density and the cold and the lack of sunlight that makes me want to crawl in bed for a few hours. However, most of my experience in the fog is when I'm driving, which doesn't bode well for me making it to my destination safely.
* Lately I can't get enough CSI. It doesn't matter what CSI it is - the original, CSI:NY, and when I'm desperate, CSI:Miami. Please help me!!

How creepy! You have a haunted house! Now I am going to be so paranoid at night when I am up at 4am feeding the baby. I love the video of Cole. My kids made me play it over and over again. Sorry about the fog. At least the snow is gone, right? And I can't cure your CSI obsession unless I replace it with another one, like Cold Case or 24 or something else. Sorry!
Cole is so cute. Macade loved watching him over and over. He insited to keep playing and would just laugh! And can we say enought of the fog already. My heavens! Not that the lack of sunlight is any different, but the fog is a little overboard i must agree!!
Your house is haunted and you offered to let me stay there if we visit! Are you kidding?! =) You should do some research, maybe your house was built on a graveyard or something. I can't believe Cole's already talking. Visit already so we can see him in action! And I don't watch CSI so I don't see what the big fuss is about. Grey's maybe, or 24? Oh, and Hayden likes to say "Good hell mom!" so at least it's not your fault that your child is learning bad words. I need to start watching what I say =)
So, last night as I was falling asleep (with the help of my sleeping pill) I thought of the story of Rix and the man standing next to you and totally freaked myself out. I think you should stop watch your Hauntings show. So creepy!!! And, if you want my advice (from the owner of a murder house), bless your house!! I'll give you all the info you need (it's so easy).
And, Cole is growing up tooooo fast. What a cutie. I can't believe what a little talker he is.
And, by the way, you must move to Spanish Fork within 2 years. That way, Kade, Luke, John & Cole can play 4 on 4 soccer in Mapleton. Deal?
I love this post. I laughed so hard over the little Rix stories (the army being near by and the man standing next to you). Just think of the man standing next to you like the veil is thin, and Rix is still pretty young so he is closer to the veil than you. Your home is protected by the spirit I wouldn't worry, :) haha. But I know what you mean, kinda creepy.
The video of Cole is SO SO cute! Can't wait to see you guys! Love ya!
Maaike used to see ghosts. You should ask her if she remembers that.
Also, have you tried NCIS? I like it 10 million times better than CSI and just bought seasons 1 and 2 on amazon. I can't wait until they get here!
How funny! We always get such a kick out of your posts. We always end up missing you guys so much when we hear about what is going on with your boys. don't you just love the pick up game? We play it often. Good luck breaking your self from watching csi. I am no help, Kevin and I are addicted to some shows and don't know how to turn the tv off sometimes.
I am with Christina, soccer would be so fun in a couple of years.
Love the YouTube video of your son! What a cutie!! And here's the high lights of the day eh? It's a good thing they keep us so entertained!! Unfortunately, I work full time, so I savor every moment when I get home, or in the morning. :)
