Oprah Shmoprah

So Oprah always has these "favorite things" shows that I can't watch because I get too jealous that I'm not in the audience getting all these fabulous things for free! I also don't watch because all of her favorite things would require me to take out a second mortgage on our house in order to afford them! So, thanks to Stina's fabulous "tag", I am now going to share my favorite things with you - and you can enjoy them without going into serious debt!

Curvy Low Rise jeans from GAP rock! Okay, so most of you reading this blog don't have curvy anything and don't need these, but I love them! They come in several styles and colors, and I always find them at the GAP outlet (who wants to pay full price???).

We got this Restwarmer Heated Mattress Pad for Christmas (thanks Dave and Linz!). And we don't know what we did before we had it! It has dual controls, so my side of the bed could be at the highest temperature and Bryan's could be on low. It was awesome for getting up in the middle of the night to feed Cole because my bed would still be warm when I got back. Of course, we don't use it in summer, but since it is still in the 50's here, we still are getting some use out of it!

Another fab Christmas present (thanks Kev and Kristen!!). This is the epitome of presents I never knew I wanted but can't live without. This version of the Mr. Coffee Cocoa Maker is a little newer than the one we have, but whatever version you have you will love it. It heats up your water or milk and whips your hot cocoa mix until it's frothy and perfectly hot, but not too hot. This has a permanent place on our kitchen table until the weather gets too warm for hot cocoa. See you next winter Mr. Coffee Cocoa Maker! Miss you already!

A family member on Bryan's side was once aghast that we swaddle our kids (torture!!). But honestly - they love it! We recently stopped swaddling Cole and he is six months old! And what made swaddling so great?? The Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe blanket. It makes swaddling a breeze - no more wrestling with blankets that come undone in the middle of the night. Cole never got out of this swaddle and it took seconds to get him in it. It has a slit in the back for a carseat buckle so you can swaddle your baby while driving. I can't tell you how much I love it and it is my new favorite baby gift (sorry to ruin the surprise Kelli and Carissa!).

I love this high chair! It's the Fisher Price Space Saver High Chair. It reclines enough that Cole was in it from day one and is so versatile! He sits next to us at dinner and, when he gets older, we can take the tray away and he can sit at the table like a big boy. It has totally saved space in our kitchen (so I guess it's living up to it's name??).

I love all 5 of your fave things! I have those jeans and wear them wayyy to much. We have a heating blanket just like yours too. But now I want the hot cocoa maker so bad! And the wrap makes it looks so much simpler. I've seen them in magazines but never thought to get it (thanks, in advance!). Oh, and I almost bought that high chair too. I'll get it with this one since you made it sound so awesome.

Hey, for all you mommies out there I am excited to use these when I have a baby! They are way more supportive than baby carriers and they feel close to you like when they were in your womb. http://www.haveaballbaby.com/
My cousin owns this website and makes them. So props to her!

Okay- it's not a heating blanket - it's a mattress pad so it stays put and warms your blankets!! Get it right Carissa!!

Can't even look at the cocoa maker or mattress pad...it's so hot here and I can't believe you keep throwing in your 50s temperatures every chance you get, you make me so jealous! I love the gap jeans though, they make me look skinnier than I really am. Oh, and I'm totally okay with that swaddling blanket, anything that makes the whole swaddling thing easier!

So, since you have kept my nickname--which I will not mention here (it's inappropriate), Bryan mentioned a new one for you. Can't wait to use it! :)
