And yes, I've waited six years to say that!!
Rix turned six on July 7. He was soooo excited! He kept telling me things that he would do when he turned six, and he gets mildly upset when he finds out that someone turned six before him (i.e. Hayden his cousin or Ethan his friend). But now he is six and feels like he is the man of the house!
We started the festivities on Friday July 2nd. Rix had his first real birthday party! He decided on a carnival theme because he loved the carnival at school and he loves the games, food and mostly the prizes. We rented a bouncy house, set up some carnival games, and laid out some food and let the kids go wild. He invited some kids from his class and his cousins that live in Washington. He scored some awesome presents, and after the party was over I was exhausted!
The kids jumped on the trampoline and the bouncy house almost the whole time. Hopefully they all slept like rocks for their parents!
Bryce and Jack playing the soccer game.
Carissa and I set up the bouncy house by ourselves! We were so proud :)
Carissa made Rix's birthday cupcakes. Isn't it so cute??
Ready to sing!!
Blowing out the candles and making a wish.
L to R: Ethan, my mom, Olivia, and Madeline.
My mom came to help with the party and to keep the kids from being too crazy! It helped a lot because the kids know who she is since she is the secretary at their school.
Daddy showed up for the last half of the party!
He got some awesome presents: a Nerf gun, a water gun, some Wii games, a Bakugan, and a Bionicle.
After the birthday party, we calmed down until Tuesday, when we all went to Red Robin the celebrate Rix's and my sister-in-law Lindsay's birthday! It was a lot of fun! I love going out to eat with all of my family.
Red Robin just happened to be there that night. Lucky us!
Nana and Rix opening his presents.
I love this pic! Bryan is hiding behind the balloon, but I love the look Madelynn is giving him!
Love the expression!
Carissa and Close-Up Olivia!
Papa was on Cole Duty.
Rix waited all day for them to sing to him and to get ice cream.
We made sure our server knew it was Lindsay's birthday too (she was super excited about that).
Cole was adament that he was going home with Dave and Lindsay.
On Wednesday, since it was his actual birthday, we went to Toy Story 3 (loved it!!) and let him choose dinner. Surprise! He chose McDonalds! Don't worry. We let the boys have their McDonalds, and we went to teriyaki!
Rix is such a great kid. Sure he has his moments, but what kid doesn't? He is amazing with babies. He loves to play with them, make them happy, and just dote on them. He loves to spend time with his Papa and dad, and his favorite activity? Golf! And he is getting the hang of it. He also loves to pretend fight with his brothers, jump on the trampoline, and watch Bakugan.
He is excited to start first grade. He reads like a pro, has handwriting like a doctor (terrible!) and loves learning new things. We love our little six year old!

Rix is adorable, I love him. :) Happy Belated Birthday!! The carnival was a great idea, and I love the baloon cupcakes! Glad you guys had so much fun!
Do you hire out for birthday parties? I will fly you out here. Rix's birthday week was awesome! He is so cute!
P.S. I am so glad you are in Utah right now!
His party was super fun. Maybe since his handwriting is like a doctor's he'll become one and buy you a big ol' house and new car :) I love the look on his face when they were singing for him at Red Robin. Classic :)
You are super mom. I am terrible at birthday parties and will have to come to you for inspiration! We sure love that Rix. He made all the difference for Austin on the trek. Love ya!
What?! Our Red Robin doesn't do ice cream and singing anymore. What party poopers! I love the carnival idea, mind if I steal it for next year? I love your little Rix too!
