So school starts for Rix on September 9th and he is so excited and a little nervous. I'm excited for him because kindergarten can be so much fun! He has Olivia in his class and his friend from preschool last year named Ethan. He loves school and learning new things, so this year will be lots of fun for him. But I thought it would be fun to do a "Week of Fun" before school, so seven days before the first day of school I want to do something fun every day, kind of like a last hurrah before summer is officially over for us. I wanted to take him to the zoo, to the spray park, maybe to Chuck E Cheese, but I'm short on ideas! Help me! And I wanted to give him little gifts each day, like a count down to school, but I don't want to buy him little cheap toys that will just be lost or junk up his room. I want little presents that will help at school or maybe treats? I need help with this too! Please, lend me your creative ideas! I need all the help I can get!!! I know you all are more creative than I am! Thanks!

Off exit 103 in Olympia there is a trail that passes a bunch of waterfalls. Some are little, and some are hudge. Jimmy loves going there. There is also a nature preserve at Snake Lake park in Tacoma where they have turles in the pond, ducks, and tons of ant hills. Jimmy's almost too young for it, but I'm sure Rix would have fun. I am totally stealing your idea, or joining you. ANYWAY... There is bowling that you can do, a picnic at Sunnyside or Steilacoom park or you can feed the ducks. I think some fun presents can be a cool shirt for school or a fun snack or something.
We did a special dinner for Hayden the night before with all his favorite dishes. You can go to the Family Fun website and they have ideas for making school-bus shaped desserts and stuff.
Thanks for sharing now that Jordyn's already started school! All I did was a party after her first day...
Gifts..can you give him school supplies? A lunch box? New backpack? We didn't need to buy any school supplies like pencils or markers, but maybe he'd want some of those cool Crayola kits just cause. let us know what you end up doing!
Hey..ran into your hubby at the temple yesterday! We really should get together, soon. So maybe one of your fun things to do this next week is come visit us? Our kids start wednesday (hurray!!) so it will be me and the little ones during the day but evenings are always open. I'll stop for now I sound like I'm begging! :) Let me know if you need a day to fill though. Oh and NW Trek is a super fun one too. My kids love it. I wa thinking of going Tuesday!
