Bryce Update

As most of you know, we started potty-training Bryce last Sunday night. At first I was overwhelmed and frustrated - and it was only the first day! I don't know why I get so impatient with potty training. I did the same thing with Rix, where I got really overwhelmed really fast and felt they would never get the hang of the whole potty-training thing - and this was all in the first couple of days of trying! I think the reason I get overwhelmed is (and this is going to shock all of you) I don't like cleaning up pee and poop. Seriously. I don't. But Bryce has done amazing! He only pooped his pants twice (and thankfully Bryan was home for the last, and worst one, and he took care of it). He hasn't had an accident since Wednesday of last week. And we haven't changed our schedule one bit! We have been to Enrichment, Costco, the park, church, McDonald's and my parent's house. He LOVES to show people his real underpants, which most people find slightly shocking and very funny. He even got to ride on Rix's bus today (thanks Pam!) because I told him if he would go potty in the potty chair he could ride the bus with Rix. He LOVED it. He got dropped off and Pam walked him into the office where my mom was and my mom said Bryce had the biggest grin on his face! He strutted himself to Rix's class to play, only to be told school was starting so he had to leave. But he didn't mind being in Nana's office. Bryce hasn't had an overnight accident at all - which is really nice. Rix never had that either, so I'm not sure if I would handle that well. I tend to have lapses in judgement when I'm half asleep. So things here are going well. Rix's last day of preschool is tomorrow, so, for us, summer is officially here! I'll post pictures of Rix's "graduation" tomorrow! I can't believe he will be in kindergarten next year!

Yippee skippee for you. I knew it would happen. Congrats on you riding the "potty train".

Thanks for your advice Andrea! The best advice so far is not using the potty chair. The regular toilet is a lot easier and cleaner! And when he gets taller we will buy Cheerios in bulk :)

Congrats! He definitely has Kade beat! But, I hold no grudges since Bryce is a year older!

I am so glad he is getting it. It gives me hope that Jack can also be potty trained, although I'm not sure I'll be taking him in public while doing so. He's slightly more ornery than Bryce is. Yeah Bryce!
