A Washington Snow Day

And by day I mean it only lasted a day. In Washington it doesn't snow very often, at least not here in Lakewood. On Christmas day it snowed, but it was very light and didn't stick. Yesterday morning though we woke up to a blanket of white and Rix yelling that it had snowed! He was so excited and I promised him that after we got done at the office we would play in the snow. However, when we got back to our house the snow was GONE! We drove over to Nana's and her front yard was green - not white! But thankfully her backyard was shaded and still snowy - allowing me to keep my promise to Rix and let them play. Bryce didn't know what to think at first (he hasn't seen snow before that he can remember!) but saw how much fun Rix was having and decided that the snow wasn't all that bad.

Rix pausing from throwing snow at Bryce (and me!) to smile for the camera.

Bryce liked running through the snow and leaving tracks. You can see it isn't super deep snow. But Bryce is still so cute!

Papa came home for lunch and joined in the fun. Here he is caught red-handed! And yes, that is Cole in the background. But he is in a snowsuit and blankie and it is not that cold outside! No hate mail please!

Rix and Bryce decided that teaming up against Papa was the best defense. As long as I don't get hit I didn't care what they did.

I love that Rix will hold snow without gloves. Olivia hates snow touching her, although she likes to stomp in it. We are buying a sled to go sledding down the hill by our house. Yeah! I can't believe it snowed there in Lakewood! How fun for the kiddos.

How fun! I haven't taken my kids out to play because the wind chill just makes it so miserable to be outside. I'm glad they teamed up on Papa...he totally had it coming!

This looked so fun! And warmer than here (since your dad was in short sleeves--or has he just lived in Washington too long?). Does Rix know what a white wash is? I'm sure he'll find out eventually--either that or he'll teach Bryce and Cole!
