Rixisms:Edition 4

So as Rix gets older, his little sayings are funny words or anything like that, but he is so observant and says the funniest things. Sometimes when I am really frustrated with him, he will say something off the wall and I instantly am not mad anymore. What a gift he has with women already! :)

* I was drinking a Diet Coke the other day (shocker, right?) and Rix wanted a drink. Now I don't usually let him have a drink of my Diet Coke, but I did that day. He finished drinking and said "Yum Mom! I love Diet Coke!" and then he paused and said "And I love caffeine!" Nice.

* While we are on the soda subject - we were at the post office and there was a huge Pepsi truck delivering sodas to the pizza place in the same building as the post office. Rix got all offended and said "Mom! I wanted a big Pepsi truck for Christmas and you didn't get it for me!" I asked him what he was going to do with a big Pepsi truck and he looked at me like I was an idiot and said "Drink all the Mountain Dude!!!" (That is what he calls Mountain Dew.) Does anyone see a caffeine trend here?

*This morning I was doing my hair in the bathroom and Rix came in with Bryce and said "Mom, you look like a princess. See Bryce! There is a princess!" while pointing at me. This is a better story than Carissa's princess story because we don't have daily discussions about princesses and things of that nature in our house like Carissa and Olivia do. I'm a cooler princess because of that!

* Rix is in Primary now as a Sunbeam and does rather well. He sits with his class and sings and pays attention for the most part. However, last Sunday he would't sit in his chair and insisted on coloring on the floor. So I took him out (I'm in there anyway) to give his teacher a break and he sat on the steps to the stage for timeout. When he was done I told him he could either go sit with his class or I would have to go get daddy (a terrible threat for Rix!). He cried and held onto my leg and said he didn't want to sit with his teacher. I asked him why and he said "Because I don't like the clothes she is wearing!" Was she a fashion victim and Rix couldn't sit next to her for fear her crime in fashion would rub off on him? I checked out her clothes when I went back in and I couldn't see anything wrong, but apparantly Rix is more trendy than me.

I love Rix, he is so funny! I especially love your last Rixism, I love that of all the reasons to not go back to class, he mentions the teacher's clothes. And I was thinking that maybe his caffeine trend runs in the family?

I'll definitely have to check my wardrobe next time I visit to make sure I am okay for Rix. And of course he likes caffeine, he is a Hjelm!

Man, those Pearson kids. So cute!

P.S. Kory is in my ward! Totally threw me off when I saw him at Grandpa's tonight (for Keith's thing) and we discovered we live in the same ward.

Love,
Rachel

You are so good to keep track of these things. I try to write them in their journal, but it's hard to keep up with three!

I love that he was mad at your not buying a Pepsi truck--how does he know Mountain Dude is a Pepsi product? Caffeine must boost his IQ. Give him more!!!
