Today I Am Grateful For...

Christina! She showed me how to do the Infant Heimlich (so I guess I should be thanking Jordyn too?). I have now twice used it on Bryce, the last time being today when he choked on a travel size lotion cap. It is so scary! But I don't know what I would have done had Christina not shown me how to do the infant heimlich - so thanks! P.S. Bryce is okay - the lid came shooting out with blood on it (so sad!) and he was really upset, which made him super cuddly. The lid was really stuck in his throat and took a while to get out, but luckily my dad was here at the office with me, so I had some help and moral support! You rock Stina!

Oh how scary! How do you do the infant Heimlich? Was Dad freaking out? Poor Bryce! I'm grateful for Stina too!

Stina you'll need to show me! Roman choked on a banana piece a few weeks ago and all I could think to do was pick him up and slap him on the back - luckily that worked. Otherwise I suppose I could always run across the street the fire dept =) I'm so glad you learned how to do that, how scary! That is my biggest fear, your story had me almost in tears just fearing for something like that.

Well that just means I'm grateful for Adventure Time Preschool and 1st Aid/CPR Training there!!! I'm so glad you remembered--dang good for never having to do it before. Give Bryce an extra squeeze from us!

I guess "fish night" is still ingrained in our minds (Brent fed Jordyn a whole pickle when she was 7 1/2 months old. She was able to bite off a piece, so in the middle of McGrath's I had to wack her back!!)

Maybe we should post a video of how to do it for your sisters...Especially since Kelli won't alway have a fire department across her street.

Oh dear! I think that all of the experinced mom's in the family should sit down with Kristen and I and give us some pointers. ....good thing our little boy will only be drinking milk for a while!

I am way impressed that you remembered. I have taken cpr for infants before, and I think if my baby were to choke I would not remember a thing. Way to go. I hope you or Stina will be close by when it happens for us.
