Playing at the Park

So I tend to feel like a better mom if my kids are out of their jammies and dressed before 9am (when I have to be at work), they've had at least one fruit and one vegetable serving that day (fries don't count!) and if they get to be active, preferably outside. I'm not sure I accomplished the first two, but on Wednesday Bryan came home a little early and we all went to play at the park. Bryce loved the swings, which is funny because to this day Rix is freaked out by them (he literally screamed to get off of them!). In fact, Rix gets a little afraid of the swings and the bigger slides, but he did find one slide he liked and stayed in that general area the whole time. Bryce loved everything about the park, including the slides and the swings. Yeah, a daredevil. We had a good time though and took advantage of the nice weather. See, the park saved the day even without fruits and veggies!

Rix is "driving" the fire engine in the park. This is a MUCH safer activity than swinging. Isn't he just adorable???

This is the slide that Rix liked a lot - and apparantly the static likes it also. Isn't he graceful?

Rix and Bryce on the slide together. Bryce loved this slide so much that all Bryan had to do was sit him at the top and he would scoot himself to the edge until he was sliding by himself (don't worry - we were there to catch him).

Bryce slides down by himself, but as you can see he falls a little head first (top heavy maybe?) He didn't seem to be scared at all, and he went down several times. It was really funny to watch - and needless to say both of these kids slept very well that night!!

I love the park you went to. I can't wait to take my kids when we come in July. Olivia loves the park and she asks to go all the time, it's just hard to explain to a 2 year old that the snow makes the park a little impossible for now. Your kids are so cute though. And by the way, Olivia is freaked out by swings too, but loves the big slides.
