Thankful for So Much!

I know this is the first picture you all wanted to see.
Bryan doesn't look much better in these goggles.

My mom helped the kids make little Oreo turkeys. They weren't the cutest (Kristi's were much cuter) but the kids had such a good time making them, and Bryce would've made them all day long if we would have let him! We are so doing this next year too, and I'll get a better frosting for glue!
The night before Thanksgiving Bryan cut a bunch of wood blocks for some friends. The boys love to go to Lowes! It's better than the park!

This Thanksgiving was a lot of fun for us. The boys were excited about the holiday and I was excited for a few days off of work and to have Bryan home. We spent the day at my mom's house, which the kids were mostly excited about. Carissa, Lindsay, and I went to Old Navy and stood in line forever, but they got some cute stuff, so totally worth it! Dinner wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be. We had my kids and Carissa's kids, plus our friends the Ross's two kids, but all the kids were really well behaved! We had two turkeys (yum) and ham (Bryan's favorite), so there was plenty to go around. I also attempted a pumpkin cheesecake that turned out pretty good, but I'll try a different recipe next year.

Friday morning - early morning - Carissa and I braved the crowds at Target and Walmart. We got some great deals, but the best part is just getting up early and seeing all the wackos! It's the experience of it all that I love, and even though I was only really going for some $3 jammies and a set of Hot Wheels, it was so worth the 4:30 am wake up call (even though I'm still recovering - I've been going to bed at 9pm since Black Friday!).

This year I have a lot to be grateful for. I have a beautiful home that is almost done (finally!). We paid off our Amex card, which feels amazing. I have a beautiful and fun family, with three amazing boys who love me no matter what, even if I haven't put on makeup yet! I have a great husband who works hard to provide for us, and works hard to keep me happy and sane (three boys are tiring!). My family is healthy and I have nothing to complain about. This year has been really great, but I think next year is going to be even better. I've learned a lot this year about life and myself, and I am excited for next year so that I can make it even better!

Your Thanksgiving sounds like a blast. Two turkeys? And a ham? Wow! Sounds incredible. I want to try your pumpkin cheesecake--I just need to stop being lazy! And, I agree about this year--learning so much and can't wait to see what next year brings. I have loved my late 20's and think my 30's are going to be that much better! (Aren't you turning 30 next year???)

PS. Yes, it is 6:20 AM when I'm doing this. I'm going running and should be hurrying, but when I saw you posted, I couldn't help but read it. I'm a die-hard fan of your blog!

The kids were really good on Thanksgiving, weren't they? I was ready to leave early with some crying kids, but they lasted pretty long. Love the goggle pics. Well, "love" as in I think they are funny.
