What's Up Doc?

So I'll be the first to admit I've been a huge blogging slacker lately, but seriously, updating my blog when I feel like a truck has ran me over is not on the top of my list! Our whole family has been sick for over a week (except Rix, really, who has the immune system of an ox). A week! The whole sick this is getting real old real fast. I just want to breathe normally, without weezing, without coughing, and without feeling like my cheekbones are going to explode. Bryan is feeling a lot better. He has been to work the past couple days, but he still has a yucky cough. Cole is really stuffy and snotty (so not my favorite thing) and he has a bad cough too. He has been literally sleeping in until past 10 am every morning for over a week, every day. It's crazy! I love it (who doesn't love a baby who actually sleeps in?) but it gets us to the office late and I worry when he sleeps that much. Bryce is much better too, but still stuffy. We had a scare last week because his temperature spiked to over 105, so our pediatrician sent us to the ER for a chest X-ray. Of course, they didn't find anything, but while at the hospital his fever broke and he sweated buckets! He was so cute and little on that hospital bed, and while I mourn the loss our huge ER copay, both Bryan and I agreed that we'd rather be safe than sorry. We would have never forgiven ourselves if something had been wrong with Bryce and we hadn't done something about it. But I do have some pictures to post to catch you up on my super-cute kids and what we've been up to. While Bryan was in Utah I took the boys to McDonald's for Happy Meals.

Bryan's mom made these super-adorable pants for the boys out of old army jackets. Rix's are shorts, but since it's freezing cold here, we couldn't convince him to take his socks off :) The boys love their army pants! Now they can look like Daddy!

Cole is our fashion queen, obviously. He took off his pants, put on a belt, and plugged in one ear plug (because wearing two ear plugs is sooooo last season).

Snuggling on the couch with daddy.

Some things never change. Cole is still so cute. And still so messy.

A while ago we went to the firehouse for an open house. I finally got around to putting on the tattoos from there. The boys love tattoos. And I say love because I don't know a word greater than love. They obsess over them. They need them!! Anyway, in their hands are the fire truck cards from the open house. Cool, right?

Tonight was McTeacher's night at the local McDonald's. Twenty percent of the profits from 5pm to 7pm goes to Park Lodge Elementary. But the best part was all the teachers and staff helped work there! Let me tell you, it was C.H.A.O.S. There were so many people there! Nana worked the cash register. Isn't she cute??

Here is Rix and Olivia with their teacher, Ms. Faughender. They were so excited to see their teacher working at McDonalds, and they also saw their fine arts teacher and some friends from school. How fun is that?

Our friend Christie is working as the health clerk. We love her! She was running around the back, helping with food prep. Thanks Christie, my food was great! :)

Yeah! You updated your blog! I hear you about all the coughing and wheezing. I am forgetting what it's like to be normally healthy! Cute pics from McDonald's. I'm still mad at myself for forgetting the stupid camera!

Your wealth of knowledge always astounds me. Who knew oxen are the healthiest animals? I sure didn't!

And, i will definitely only be wearing one of my earplugs. I didn't know two were a fashion violation!

And--congrats on hitting McD's twice in one blog!!! (I will be taking the kids tonight!)

Also, glad it was just a scare with Bryce. But, you had me feeling better about Kade's fever. It finally broke last night.

Oxen have good immune systems? Awesome. Then Hayden has that kind of oxen-immune-system thing. I'll tell him tomorrow when he wakes up. He'll be so excited.

I want a McTeacher night, how fun! I'll bet the kids got a kick out of seeing Nana and their teachers there.

Glad Bryce isn't seriously sick, and hopefully you all are feeling better soon. Teach Rix to make some chicken noodle soup. That will teach him to hold out on the sickies.

So, I was talking to Brent and I think the saying goes--Strong as an Ox. Why not it apply it to good health? Strong Immune System = Immune System of an Ox. I get it!
