Pregnancy Update: ALMOST 39 weeks

I can't believe that I am so close to being done with my pregnancy! My baby countdown is 10 days. That is such a small number!! This pregnancy has been very different for me, with lots of aches and pains, cravings and little weight gain. My hip flexers (I probably spelled that wrong!) hurt all the time and, yes, I occasionally waddle. I don't sleep very well and my false contractions are very uncomfortable. With that said, this pregnancy has also been so great. With all the concerns the doctor has had about the size of the baby and my lack of weight gain, everything has been okay so far. My ultrasound yesterday was a huge reassurance. Last Friday, the pre-birth APGAR (a test they do to determine how well the baby is doing based on several factors) was only 6 out of 10, resulting in a scary trip to Labor and Delivery at the hospital where they did fetal monitoring for an hour. However, everything turned out fine and the baby looked really good on the monitor. Yesterday's ultrasound went much better and he got a 10 out of 10 on the pre-birth APGAR. Yeah for baby! My doctor, however, is still concerned about the weight of the baby, especially since Rix and Bryce were healthy weights, and we don't have a solid reason for why this baby is so small. I am dialated to a one or a two, so I am on modified bed rest and I'm not supposed to be getting up a lot (like that is possible for me!) and am scheduled for an induction next Tuesday. So there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Wish us all luck and pray that I don't go into labor before Thanksgiving dinner - I want my turkey and pumpkin pie!!!
